Back in the day Yuji worked at a petrol filling station drifting through life with best friend Takashi, that is until he was diagnosed with an incurable illness. As such Yuji, along with many other terminal patients, agreed to be put into stasis in the hope that a cure would be developed in the future. That was 22 years ago.

Once awoken to the nightmare of the Blue's infestation of Earth, Yuji's personality changes quite radically as he experiences fear, terror, despair, hatred and vengeance all in the space of a few days. Unwilling to be seen as excess baggage in humanity's war against the alien invaders, Yuji grows in confidence by the day as his determination to survive in his new environment increases. Part of Yuji's determination is also down to his constant pursuit of respect from Marlene, no doubt spurred on by the fact that he's more than a little taken by her.

Get on the wrong side of Marlene and all you can expect is a cold and stern reception followed by a severe ass kicking. Get on the right side and all you'll get is the cold and stern reception. Marlene's both a survivor and a solider girl, and in her mind the best way to survive is to follow orders, and she's very good at it - a little too good.

All Marlene knows is the Blue, and how to destroy them. As a solider girl born and raised, Marlene has forgone all the usual childhood experiences and teenage relationships in favour of a life of service and training, hence, her social skills are somewhat...limited, if not non-existent. Marlene's priority is to destroy the Blue and recover humanity's birth place, however, as Marlene spends more and more time with Yuji she comes to realise that her priority in life some what deviates a little.

Since Alicia was awoken on Second Earth she remains largely unaware of the true devastation that has befallen Earth in the wake of the Blue. Alicia was diagnosed with a terminal illness during her childhood, yet when she was awoken she still remained that of a child. The world changed around Alicia, however, she did not change with it...it's almost as though she's unable to fully realise her new surroundings at times.

By nature she is a bubbly young girl eager at heart, particularly when it comes to boys and Yuji Kaido, and ready to explore the world. A military career is hardly high on her list of things to do, but when your body's crawling with B-Cells there's little time for mischief - shame because she's so good at it...the mischief that is. When it comes to piloting her armoured shrike her mind is more on Yuji's performance than her own.

Seno Miyagi is Second Earth's military station science division director. He's also incredibly hard to read. Just where do this man's loyalties truly lie...to his superiors at second earth, to the well being of his comrades or to his own personal scientific curiosities? Well, with a poker face like Seno's it's hard to say. Probably a more accurate description would be 'Puppet Master' or perhaps even 'Political Scientist'.

One thing is worth putting money on, however, and that's that Seno will go to great lengths to achieve his goals. He's learned well the art of manipulating the powers that be with his sharp thinking and quick mind.
